Music is more than something that can fill a room with sound; it is a subject area that can teach students other common subjects in a school. Music incorporates math with basic note values and tempo modulations. Music incorporates history and historical events from various pieces of music that have been composed throughout ages that depicted certain events. Music develops disciplinary skills that are commonly acquired through extracurricular activities. Music teaches students a second language can be heard and interpreted by anyone in the world! This is why I love music and why I want to give students the opportunity to have the same appreciation for music as I do.
